At least seven people including children were killed in a suspected bomb attack on a church in Democratic Republic of Congo near Ugandan border.
The church was identified as SEPAC in Mwangaza village, lhubiriha town DRC neighbouring the Ugandan boarder of Mpondwe.
Reports indicate that the blast claimed 4 adults and 3 children who died on spot and several others were rushed to the nearby health centers inside DRC with injuries.
Details about the attackers and casualities following the blast remain scanty.
According to Lt. Maate Mugwara the RDC in charge of Bukonzo confirmed the report and said security at the Ugandan side has been put on high alert to block any attempt by attackers to cross into Uganda.
He urged residents on the Ugandan side to stay calm as the security forces are in charge of the situation.
