Political activist and International Affairs Secretary for the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT), Ms Barbara Allimadi is dead.
Alllimadi has been found dead in her house in Kiwatule, Kampala. She was discovered dead on Monday April 27 night.
The news was confirmed by friends and family including ANT national leader Gen. Mugisha Muntu, and Nakawa II KCCA LC5 Councillor Gumisiriza Happy Nasasira, a close friend.
Ms Allimadi, then a member of the Forum for Democratic change is remembered as one of the leaders of women activists who in 2012 protested half-naked against police brutality.
The women including Councillor Nasasira marched to the Central Police Station in Kampala to protest against the assault of their colleague the FDC secretary for mobilization Ingrid Turinawe whose breasts were squeezed by police officers during her arrest in 2012.
Early this year, Ms Allimadi graduated with a Masters degree of Arts in Human Rights at Makerere University during its 70th Graduation.
Police has began investigating on this sudden death and is yet to produce a report on this matter.
