Prominent musician-cum politician Joseph Mayanja commonly known as Jose Chameleon, has been awarded a ‘lifetime Achievement award’ for his contribution in promoting African Art through music.
Chameleon received the “African Descent Lifetime Achievement Award” at the African Descent Festival 2019 in Vancouver, Canada during a presentation and discussion on development of society through Art.
The festival that dates back to 2015 celebrates the cultural diversity of people of African descent within Canada, while recognizing and promoting attitudes of oneness among all ethnic groups and communities.
This years event was inaugurated on 20th July 2019, and graced by prominent International artists of African descent including Canadian music icon Jully Black, Congolese Diblo Dibala, and Rwanda’s Ezra Kwizera.
