President of Rwanda Gen. Paul Kagame has fired Internal Security Minister Gen Patrick Nyamvumba after about only six months in office.
According to a communiqué from the Prime Minister’s Office Gen. Nyamvumba, has been removed from his duties over matters of accountability, which are under investigation.
The former Chief of Defence has been ordered to report back to Rwanda Defense Force (RDF) Headquarters awaiting the outcome of investigations.
Gen. Nyamvumba had previously served as Chief of Defense Staff (2013-2019), Force Commander of UNAMID (2009-2013) and President of Military High Court.
He becomes the second bigshot to be fired in less than one month.
Recently foreign Affairs Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe was fired for fronting his opinions, ignoring the govt’s plans and programs.
