LONDON UK: 15 JULY 2026 – Leandro Trossard has joined Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas on a permanent transfer – Arsenal has confirmed.
Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 and made 174 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring 36 goals and assisting 34 times.
The 31-year-old started his professional career at Genk, joining their academy in 2010 before progressing to the first-team squad. Leo enjoyed a successful spell in his country of birth, making 120 appearances for Genk, as well as valuable loan spells with Lommel United, Westerlo and OH Leuven.
In June 2019, Leo joined Brighton, where he quickly established himself as a key member of the Seagulls’ squad. During his time on the south coast, the forward made 121 appearances, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists before moving to north London.

The Belgian international’s first full season for Arsenal started with silverware, when he scored a stoppage-time equaliser against Manchester City in the 2023 Community Shield, leading to our 4-1 win on penalties at Wembley Stadium. Leo produced several memorable moments in his three years with the gunners, none more significant than the decisive winner in their 1-0 victory away to West Ham United, a result that proved pivotal in Arsenal’s historic 2025/26 Premier League title triumph.
On the international stage, Leo has also been a key figure for Belgium, earning 57 senior caps and scoring 14 goals, and playing an important role for his national team, including featuring in four major competitions.

The statement however notes that this transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
