Authorities in Kenya have resorted to the fumigation of streets as part of extreme measures to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Last night, Nairobi county government fumigated the streets using the latest technology as a latest measure to fight coronavirus.
“Tonight we are fumigating using the latest technology, in our possession we have different machines doing various work. One is a fog machine, that emits a dense vapor that appears similar to smoke which has enough capacity to kill bacteria within our environment.” Governor Mike Sonko said on his twitter last night.
Three days ago, Health Executive Francis Gwama said the county will embark on fumigation of busy areas on a regular basis.
“We have started this exercise in Kwale town and it is going to take place in all the four sub-counties. We urge the people to support our initiatives to contain the spread of the virus by adhering to all health regulations. he said.
Mombasa Health Executive Hazel Koitaba said the countywide disinfection campaign was part of preventative measures to contain the virus.
Kenya’s confirmed cases rose to 110 last evening, and the country registered 2 new deaths raising the total deaths due to coronnavirus to 3.
