As this week started on Sunday 28, June, all the excitement was about starting the other half of the year “Tweny Tweny” with the advent of the month of July on Wednesday, little did we know that the week would turn out to be a roller-coaster of big stories in the entertainment scene.

Starting this weekend, we will be making a review of all the entertainment stories that have shaped the week in a special column dubbed “WEEK IN REVIEW” and this week we bring you these stories in order of their

1. SHEILA GASHUMBA & GOD’s PLAN Vs TINA

What started as a trending hashtag #stopsocialmediabullyinginuganda on twitter resulted into an initiative to put a stop to cyber bullying in Uganda. The hashtag was started by celebrity couple of Sheila Gashumba and Ali Marcus Lwanga alias God’s Plan. The two later paid other social influencers to trend the hashtag for the past two weeks with their attack directed to Urban TV’s gossip show “Sqoop on Sqoop” and it’s presenter, Christine Kirungi alias Tina Fierce.

Finally, on Thursday evening, UCC suspended the show for the meantime as a few issues get sorted. The couple claimed the show brought them a lot of frustrations through insults thrown by its presenter.

2. LYDIA JAZMINE & MC IBRAH

Peace talks; Ibrah and Jazmine made peace

Just as the fire was still burning between Sheila and Tina, Singer Lydia Jazmine retaliated against Star TV’s gossip show host & Wolokoso No Xtress YouTube content creator Ibrah Mukasa lias MC Ibrah. Through a tweet quoted with a video, Lydia Jazmine claimed that the latter constantly attacked and dragged her name into dirt, something she said was gross harassment to her, her management and also her sick mother.

In the video, Ibrah claimed Lydia had aborted Fik Fameica’s pregnancy and a lot more in that line. However unlike Tina & Sheila, Ibra on Wednesday issued an apology to the songstress through his social media platforms. He remorsefully described his utterances as degrading, appalling and regrettable.

On Thursday evening, Ibrah’s boss and Head Of Entertainment at UBC Mr Calvin Kalule aka Calvin the Entertainer together with singer Mesach Semakula brought Lydia Jazmine and Ibra Mukasa on a round table and they made peace.

The ghetto Gladiator started the show while on a boat on the waters of his One love beach in Busabala. The production of the show was so on point both visually and in audio. To many, Bobi Wine set the pace for the online shows and many of his supporters started ranting that his fellows who wish to hold online concerts should first consult him.

It all started as simple misunderstanding between these two artists but later turned into real beef with day-to-day social media attack’s. GNL Zamba claims he inspired the generation that came after him in the hip hop music in Uganda. Gravity on the other hand says that he has never been inspired by the GNL claiming that all GNL is looking for is relevancy because he has faded down here in Uganda.
