The Grade One Magistrates’ Court in Matuga today morning convicted and sentenced former District Chairman for Amudat, Kiyonga Adamson, to 23 months and 14 days in jail for allegedly stealing a government vehicle.
Kiyonga was arrested in 2021 by the State House Anti-corruption Unit and charged with stealing and selling spare parts of a wrecked government vehicle, a double cabin pick-up truck registration number UG0654Z from Matugga Police Station and selling it in parts.
The vehicle valued at UGX130million, belonged to Amudat district under the Youth Livelihood Programme.
The presiding magistrate also ordered Kiyonga to pay a fine of UGX80million which must be paid to Amudat district within six months of completing his sentence.
