Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni eulogized city businessman Dr Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige as an innovative and exemplary leader whose persistence and dedication is worth emulating especially for young generation.
In a condolence message, Museveni said, Uganda has lost a great Entrepreneur and innovative Business Leader, who profitably took advantage of Uganda’s vast business opportunities to create jobs and incomes for her people.
A seasoned businessman and investor, Dr. Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige, succumbed to cancer on the 10th of September, 2021 in a hospital in Kenya and he was buried yesterday -Sunday, at Nkoowe in Wakiso District.
“I wish to extend, on behalf of the people of Uganda, my family, the NRM Party, and on my own behalf, heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the Late Alhaji Bulaimu Muwanga. My thoughts are with the family during this moment of grief and sorrow. I pray that Allah grants you the fortitude and courage to go through this loss.”
“His numerous investments in the services industry, agriculture, manufacturing, etc. have created avenues for employment and revenue for the Country. His unwavering commitment and hard work enabled him to ascend to great heights of personal success and to create an international business empire from very humble beginnings.”

With a minimal profile in formal education, Dr Bulaimu founded a number of businesses under BMK Group including Hotel Africana Kampala, Hotel Africana Moroto, Hotel African Lusaka -Zambia, BMK Motorcycles Uganda Ltd -Kampala, Kenya BMK Motorcycles -Nairobi, BMK Motorcycles -Der es Salaam, BMK Motorcycles Rwanda.
He also owned BMK Construction Leasing Company -Kigali Rwanda, BMK Oli Equipment Company-Kampala, Hotel Africana Forex Bureau 1 and 2, among others.
At the time of his death, Dr Bulaimu was 63 years old.
