KAMPALA Uganda: 30 September 2026—More than 400 residents of Mutungo have gained direct access to essential medical services following a free community health camp organized by the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf in partnership with dfcu Bank.
The weekend outreach delivered comprehensive healthcare directly to the local community, offering outpatient consultations, eye screenings, malaria testing, diabetes and HIV counseling, triage, and specialized referrals. A concurrent blood drive yielded 25 units to bolster regional blood banks for emergency care, surgical patients, and maternal health support.

The initiative forms part of a larger three-year, UGX 1 billion commitment by dfcu Bank to back Rotary Uganda’s nationwide health programs. Celebrating over 60 years in Uganda’s development landscape, dfcu Bank continues to expand its footprint beyond traditional financing into key social pillars like public health.
”Health costs can put significant pressure on families, particularly when a condition is detected late,” said Diana Nanono, Sustainability Manager at dfcu Bank. “Taking basic screening and health information closer to communities helps people identify issues early and seek treatment before conditions escalate.”
Health workers at the Mutungo camp reported treating common pediatric ailments like malaria and pneumonia, while noting a rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases—specifically hypertension and diabetes—among adult attendees.
”Many people still have limited access to basic medical services,” noted Maria Odido, President of the Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf. “Bringing these services into neighborhoods provides a critical window for screening, early advice, and necessary referrals.”
Since its launch a year ago, the dfcu-Rotary alliance has spanned over 30 communities, benefiting more than 30,000 Ugandans and funding life-saving heart surgeries for 22 children in western Uganda.
