The detailed schedule outlines three days of national prayers, official parliamentary tributes, and regional gatherings, culminating in his final interment on Wednesday in Adjumani District, Northern Uganda.
Sunday: Public Prayers and Vigil
The send-off events commenced today, Sunday, with a series of Islamic Janaza prayers across major mosques in Kampala:
10:00 AM: Janaza prayer at Old Kampala Mosque.
12:00 PM: Janaza prayer at Kibuli Mosque.
4:00 PM: Janaza prayer at his personal mosque in Naguru.
Thereafter: The body will be transported to his private residence in Naguru for an overnight vigil.
Monday: State Honors and Airlift
On Monday, state honors will begin as the country pays respects to the former Deputy Prime Minister and long-serving legislator:
10:00 AM: The body will be taken to the Parliament of Uganda for an official special session.
1:00 PM: A national ceremony will be held at the Kololo Airstrip.
Post-Presidential Address: Following a address by President Yoweri Museveni, the body will be airlifted to Yumbe District for local Janaza prayers.
By 6:00 PM: The body will be airlifted from Yumbe to Adjumani District, where it will remain overnight.
Wednesday: Regional Farewell and Burial
Following a quiet Tuesday, the final leg of the funeral proceedings will take place on Wednesday in the West Nile sub-region:
Morning: The body will be taken to Paridi Stadium for a special public gathering drawing mourners from the 15 districts of West Nile.
3:00 PM: Final Janaza prayer at Abirichaku.
4:00 PM: The official burial ceremony.
