Kampala, UGANDA 22 July 2025 – Esteemed legal scholar and former Supreme Court Justice, Prof. Dr. George W. Kanyeihamba, will be laid to rest next Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at his home in Buziga, according to a funeral arrangement notice released by the family. The program outlines several events leading up to the burial, providing opportunities for the public to pay their respects.
Prof. Dr. G.W. Kanyeihamba was a prominent figure in Uganda’s legal and political landscape, passed on last week at the age of 85. He served as a member of Parliament, a government minister but he also played a huge role in advocating for human rights and good governance.
According to the program, the funeral proceedings will commence on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, with a Supreme Court Tribute scheduled for 2:00 PM.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, the family will receive mourners at their home in Buziga starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a service and tributes at 3:00 PM.
A Church Service will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at All Saints Cathedral, Kampala, at 9:00 AM. Later the same day, an official vigil will take place at Kabojja International School, Buziga, at 3:00 PM.
The final rites will be observed on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, with a service at Kabojja grounds at 10:00 AM, which will be followed by the burial at Prof. Kanyeihamba’s home in Buziga.
