Government through the Ministry of Works and Transport has temporarily suspended the implication of Automated Express Penalty System which was recently introduced to punish errant motorists in Uganda.
“Effective midnight tonight, the implementation of automated Express Penalty System [EPS Auto] will be temporarily suspended following a comprehensive review.” The social media post by the Ministry of Works and Transport reads.
“@GenWamala will issue a detailed statement tomorrow outlining the way forward. In the meantime, we urge all road users to continue driving responsibly and observing traffic rules.” The post adds.
