Kawempe Police is investigating a tragic murder case that occurred on February 25, 2025, in Kazo Central One Zone, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District, involving a woman allegedly killed by her husband.
The deceased, Nalubega Dorah Perus (25), was allegedly killed by her husband, Luwaga James, following a domestic dispute.
It is alleged that the couple had a misunderstanding the previous night, which was initially resolved. However, on the morning of February 25, the suspect allegedly lured the deceased into their house, where he assaulted her.
According to the Deputy Public Relations Officer Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the victim’s distress calls alerted a neighbor, who sought help from the area chairman. Upon their arrival, they found the suspect fleeing the scene and later discovered the victim lying lifeless in a pool of blood.
It has been established that the suspect was apprehended by community members and handed over to the police.
“Statements have been recorded from relevant witnesses, and the murder weapon has been recovered and preserved for forensic analysis. The body of the deceased has been taken to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Investigations are ongoing, and further updates will be provided in due course” a statement from Owoyesigyire reads.
He urged members of the public, especially couples, to seek peaceful and civil ways of resolving domestic conflicts rather than resorting to violence.
