Former East African Legislative Assembly contestant also Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Victoria University, Julius Bukyana has graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy.
A seasoned journalist who previously worked with Next Media, Bukyana is among 1648 students from different disciplines who were awarded by Nkumba University at its main campus in Entebbe. 12 diplomacy students were part of the 2024 graduating class.
Bukyana stood firm in analyzing EAC issues during the 2022 campaigns for the Arusha-based EALA a signal that he well understood international relations better than other candidates. Now with this significant achievement, Bukyana says he is further energized to push boundaries and contest for the slot he lost due to Parliamentary politics in Uganda.
“This accomplishment is a testament to both the dedication and unwavering commitment to my life goals” he said.
“Uganda’s diplomatic missions are headed by political appointments. For us to achieve the diplomatic objectives. Uganda needs to deploy career diplomats. This is one way to uphold Uganda’s sovereignty in diplomacy and global relations” he added.
