Three (3) inmates were critically injured on Thursday after a Uganda Prisons bus they were traveling in got involved in an serious accident along Mityana road.
The incident occured in Mityana town at around 1700hrs when a TATA lorry registration number UAV066X carrying logs rammed into a prisons bus UG0344A full of prisoners forcing it off the road.
According to a statement issued by Uganda Prisons Service spokesperson Frank Baine no fatalities were recorded except for 3 inmates who were injured.
Baine says the injured inmates are currently receiving treatment at Uganda Prisons Mityana.
He also said Police has taken over investigations into the incident, with a motive to ascertain the circumstances surrounding this accident.
