An intelligence-led operation conducted last night on June 06, 2023 by security chiefs in Kayunga District harvested 28 suspected criminals who go cutting people in the area for unknown reasons.

According to a statement from the Police PRO Ssezibwa Region, ASP Butoto Hellen,
the joint operation involving police, UPDF and local leaders was conducted in areas of Busaana sub county, Kayunga District resulted into recovery of several exhibits including knives, pangas and hammers.

The suspects arrested during the operation include;

1- Mbalagaza Sadat m/a 27yrs old, musoga by tribe, welder r/o Kauku village, namirembe parish, Busaana subcounty in Kayunga District.
2- Mwada Ovoya m/a 20yrs, mululu by tribe, peasant, r/o Busaana village, namirembe parish, Busaana subcounty.
3- Tibalye Ibrahim m/a 21yrs old, musoga by tribe, peasant resident of Busaana village.
4- Wanyama John m/j 15yrs, Samya by tribe, pupil at Busaana cu primary school and resident of Busaana village.
5- Dani David male adult 22yrs old, lugbra by tribe, peasant and resident of namirembe A village.
6- Lutaya Jamiru m/j 17yrs old, muganda by tribe, a,carpenter resident of Busaana village.
7- Waro Anthony male adult 22yrs old, kuku by tribe, peasant resident of namirembe A village.
8- Olowo Seasor male adult 20yrs old, japadhola by tribe, turn man,resident of Busaana village
9- Kasada Robert male adult 20yrs old, musoga by tribe, peasant resident of Busaana village.
10- Kawuzi Umar male adult 23yrs old, munyoro by tribe, peasant resident of busana village
11- Aberego Bosco male adult 29yrs old a Lugbara by tribe peasant resident of namirembe B
12- Bisoboka Edie male adult 36yrs old muganda by tribe peasant resident of namirembe B
13- Sseruzzi Ibrahim male adult 19yrs old munyole by tribe, peasant resident of namirembe B vllage
14- Aluma Emanueli male adult 19yrs, Lugbara by tribe, peasant resident of Namirembe B
15- Omondi John male juvenile 17yrs old a Japadhola by tribe a peasant resident of nampanyi village
16- Subbe Raymoind male juvenile 17yrs old a kuku by tribe resident of nampanyi village
17- Kiiza Dominiko male adult 20yrs old munyarwanda, peasant resident of nampanyi village
18- Mpongo Gidion male adult 22yrs old musoga by tribe resident of Busaana village
19- Wandera Stephen male juvenile 17yrs old musoga by tribe resident of Busaana village
20- Basoma Bony male juvenile 16yrs old musoga peasant resident of Busaana village
21- Wedara Yafesi male adult 25yrs old a gishu by tribe peasant resident of Kyerima A village kitimbwa sub county in Kayunga District
22- Balikitenda Fred male juvenile 14yrs old musoga by tribe a peasant resident of Busaana village
23- Owere Simon male juvenile 17yrs old japadhola by tribe peasant resident of Namirembe B village
24- Mawa Alex male adult 27yrs old a Lugbara by tribe business man resident of Namirembe B
25- Monday Ezra male juvenile 15yrs old a kakwa by tribe peasant resident of namirembe B
26- Alolo David male adult 20yrs old a kakwa by tribe peasant resident of namirembe B
27- Owori David male juvenile 16yrs old a Japadhola by tribe a student resident of namirembe A
28- Anikko Aron male juvenile 15yrs old a Lugbara by tribe a student resident of namirembe B.

According to the statement, most of the suspects are juveniles and youth who are 25yrs and below majority of whom are still staying in thier parent’s homes for which the local leaders fear to confront because they may reiteriate violently.

Hellen says all suspects arrested are going to be charged with different offences of attempted murder, robberies and simple robberies that they committed.
