Independent candidate Emmanuel Omoding was declared winner of Serere By-election.
Emmanuel Omoding olled 15638 votes closely followed by the NRM ruling party flagbearer Oucor Phillip who got 13206 votes.
Other candidates; Emmanuel Eratu (FDC) got 1252, Alice Alaso (ANT) 3335 votes and Onguruco Martin 2524.
Omoding is the son of the Late Hon. Patrick Okabe who died in a road accident leading to the by-election.
The Returning officer for Serere District Cheptegei Nangendo Slyivia stated that a total of 35954 valid votes were cast, 36766 were counted 812 were rejected and 170 got spoilt.
She declared Omoding Emmanuel winner of the By-election held on Thursday 23, February 2023.
