It is alleged that Kasibante made the difficult decision and drank poison on Tuesday, and was rushed to Masaka Referral hospital where he breathed his last.

Rakai Deputy RDC Kambugu Robert Ssenyonga confirmed Kasibante’s death citing rumor that the journalist had accumulated many debts which may have pushed him to take his life.

According to Ssenyonga, Kasibante drank Paraquat -a herbicide used in farming to eliminate weeds. He also notes that Kasibante had of late become desperate and has been going around soliciting money in the name of the Kamuswaga of Kooki.

A source confirmed that at the time of his death, journalists in Greater Masaka had already started mobilizing funds for his treatment in a bid to save his life.

In one of the letters which Brian left behind, he states that no one killed him therefore police should not inconvenience his family members. He bode farewell to his friends and his mother Nalongo Namugumya Jane who she says has been very supportive.

In another note, He acknowledges the effort by friends and relatives to support during his short, sorrowful life but also stated how he was going on a journey which he is not sure whether he returns. He urged his friends to support his family if he dies.

In a short Will, dated February 19, 2023 he states his desirable location for his resting place, and says he doesn’t want pomp or speeches on his funeral. He says and he has no heir, No funeral rites and no “stupid” rituals should be conducted on his body.

Kasibante however notes that he sired a girl named Wik and his family should be kind to his wife who he says is a Musoga.
