President Museveni has disputed reports that he had opted for a total lockdown of the country in the face of COVID-19 outbreak.

In a message posted on his social media page, Museveni said the message is a forgery because he hadn’t made such a deceleration. He said he will keep the country informed on any new measures to curb coronavirus through live broadcasts.

“My team has notified me about a forged tweet reportedly saying I have ordered a total lockdown of the country. That is false. Like I indicated earlier, I will keep the country informed of any new measures to curb Covid-19 through the usual channel of a live broadcast.” President Museveni tweeted.

Museveni said the message must have been posted by “heartless people” who are trying to alarm Ugandans. He also cautioned “them” to desist from such, henceforth.

  1. Dear Mr. President!
But why are the military and the police brutalizing and touring the innocent, poor and devastated population in such inhumane manner?
Is that also your orders… To beat, shoot, loot and do all sorts of unimaginable things?
We’ve suffered drastically under your rulership, Mr. President! Talk of wars, brutal politics, lack of rule of the law, corruption by public officers, POMA… And now, even when the world faces a pandemic!
    What have we not seen?
I implore you Mr. President, help address this matter of civilian toture by your henchmen(the police and the military).
As well, upgrade the statuses of the Heth care providers who’ve dedicated their lives in the war against this pandemic bse you know we’ll, other offices and institutions aren’t operational for now, but health institutions are!
Help us not fear our work, I beseech thee, Mr. President!
