A locust invasion has been reported in the central District of Mukono.

According to Mukono RDC Fred Bamwine, the locusts were sighted by locals in Nakifuma Sub County, and the Agriculture Production Officer for the District Dr. Mukulu brought some of them to his office. Speaking to sabasaba, Bamwine said he has the locust on his desk.

“I have one my desk here and we are still doing our best to confirm the extent of the problem” Bamwine said.

He says he and authorities at the district have already sent teams to Nakifuma Sub County to a certain the extent of the invasion to decide on the next course of action.
