One Ugandan soldier was killed in the fighting that erupted today between UPDF and Allied Democratic Force (ADF) rebels in the South Western district of Ntoroko -the army reported.
By close of this evening, the national army also reported that fighting in areas of Bweramure, Kyapa Kayanja, Ntoroko district, resulted into deaths of 17 ADF rebels while 13 others were captured.
1 UPDF soldier was wounded in the fighting according to the national army (UPDF).
The UPDF spokesperson Brig. Gen. Felix Kulayigye on Tuesday morning said about 30 ADF rebels crossed into Semuliki national park and later they were intercepted by UPDF culminating into intense fighting.
Videos which circulated on social media also showed locals fleeing the fighting as the army fought with rebels.
In the evening report, Kulayigye also reported that 16 guns, 4 Improvised Explosive Devices and 4 phones were captured from rebels.
