Police have arrested a security guard suspected to be behind the double murder at the house of city businessman Charles Tumwine in Kabowa, Ssabagabo Makindye Division.
Tuku Geoffrey, an askari, is suspected to have participated in the double murder of Turyasingura Patrick and Akandonda Ronald at the home of Tumwine Charles in Sibwa zone, Kabowa, Rubanga parish. The bodies were later dumped in a septic tank after the murder.
The Chief Political Commissar for Uganda Uganda Police AIGP Asan Kasingye confirmed the arrest through his Twitter.
Kasingye, however, didn’t divulge more details about Tuku’s arrest and where he is currently being held.
Tuku is suspected to have murdered Turyasingura who was Tumwiine’s in-law and Akandinda who was his fellow security guard.
According to a statement filed by businessman Tumwine, Tuku could have murdered Turyasingura because of UGX600,000 which the he had received from his mother to process papers for his travel to work abroad.
Tumwiine further said that Tuku and Akandinda (the second victim) were involved in stealing construction materials at his site and could have had disagreements in sharing proceeds.
