Uganda’s national carrier will take to the skies tomorrow Tuesday with government officials on board on its inaugural flight -Uganda Airlines has announced.
The inaugural flight will be for selected people who will include technical officers, government officials, and media.
The flight will depart from Entebbe Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 10am.
It is not yet clear however whether this was made specifically for marketing purposes. But this means the taxpayer foots bills for this flight.
The announcement of the inaugural flight was made by Ministry of Works, via a tweet on Sunday, prompting a section of the public to ask whether plans for the maiden flight had changed.
The airlines says this will be in preparation for a maiden commercial flight for Uganda Airlines on Wednesday as the national carrier resumes operations after spending more than 18 years in limbo.
According to the flight schedule that was released this month, Uganda Airlines was set to make its maiden flight is on Wednesday 28th August, 2019.
Jennifer Bamuturaki the director commercial, Uganda Airlines said that the maiden flight will take off at 6am and will reach JKIA at 7.15am.
