A total of 329 officers drawn from several departments in Uganda Police Force are undergoing a 3 weeks course on combating corruption and fraud.
Selected police officers from Criminal Intelligence (CID), Police Standards Unit (PSU), and investigators from upcountry stations are at CID Headquarters Kibuli attending Anti-Corruption/fraud training sabasabaupdates has learnt.
The officers are trained by various experts drawn from different institutions including the Ministry of Finance, Auditor General’s office, State House Anti Corruption Unit, Accountant Generals Office, Ministry of Local Government, PPDA, UNBS, Uganda Road Fund, and Local Government Finance Commission.
The participants are taken through the recent legislations that are relevant to their day-to-day work eg; The Anti-Torture Act, Human Rights Enforcement Act, Capital markets, Anti Money Laundering Act, and other various statutory circulars and instructions.
The course is running under the theme; Enhancing Efficiency and Effectiveness of CID in dealing with contemporaly and Emerging corruption challenges in Uganda.
