72 newly promoted officers were decorated by the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) Air Force on Tuesday at the Air Force headquarters in Entebbe.

congratulated the newly promoted officers, stating that they had earned their new ranks and would bring benefits to both the institution and the country.
Lt Gen Charles Okidi expressed his gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief of the UPDF, Gen (Rtd) Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, for endorsing the promotions.
He emphasised that promotions result from hard work, rigorous training, discipline, resilience, dedication, and commitment. Additionally, he cautioned the officers to live within their means to combat corruption.
The Commander also extended his appreciation to the spouses of the officers for their unwavering support while their partners are on duty. Col Dan Kazini, speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, thanked the Commander-in-Chief for recognising their contributions and expressed his gratitude to God for their achievements. He pledged to continue working diligently, dedicating themselves to their duties, and fostering teamwork.
The decorated officers comprised three Lieutenant Colonels, three Majors, two Captains, and several Lieutenants.
