Police have provided a preliminary account of incidents that played out in the murder by shooting that occurred today, involving Mr. Daniel Bbosa, the head of Ndiga clan, highlighting the bravery of civilians who stepped up and apprehended the assassins.
Today at approximately 6:00pm in Kikandwa Zone, Lungujja Parish, Lubaga Division, armed assailants riding on a motorcycle opened fire at a vehicle registration number UAH 637X killing Eng. Bbosa instantly. The assailants who were two in number attempted to flee using the motorcycle.
According to the KMP Deputy spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, during the heinous act, a vigilant local resident bravely intervened knocking down the assailants’ motorcycle and alerted the community. Swiftly, members of the community mobilized, leading to a confrontation with the assailants resulting in the death of one assailant.
Owoyesigyire states that while the mob killed one assailant, the other remains in critical condition. He however couldn’t divulge the identities relating to the assassins, perhaps, for purposes of preserving the ongoing investigations into the matter.
Furthermore, police confirmed recovery of the weapon allegedly used in the murder incident, along with the motorcycle registration number UEX 754E, utilized by the assailants during the attack.
Owoyesigyire says these findings will be instrumental in the ongoing investigation by teams from security agencies.
Reports indicate that the fleeing assassins met their fate after the riffle they attempted to use against the surging mob, got struck in the motorcycle rear wheel, resulting into a crash.
The identity of the brave citizen who displayed heroic attributes remains a secret (perhaps, for personal security).
Eng. Bbosa was also a businessman and the director of Transa Electricals company. According to police, the motive behind his murder remains unknown, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, Clan Members , friends, and colleagues of Mr. Daniel Bbosa during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this tragic loss.” Owoyesigyire stated.
