The Ministry of Internal Affairs has listed the minimum qualifications for able-bodied Ugandans who wish to join the Uganda Police Force (UPF) as probationer Police Constables (PPC).
The upcoming recruitment exercise presents opportunities for 2500 applicants who meet the requirements to join the police force and serve their country through enforcement of law and order, protection of life and property, detect and prevent crime, or any other duties assigned by the IGP.
The minimum requirements for recruitment of probationer Police Constables in UPF as highlighted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs are;
Applicants must be Ugandan citizens with a valid National ID(NIN).
They must have no criminal record and should be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months Police Basic Training.
The applicant should be physically and medically fit but also ready to work for long hours at times under difficult conditions.
They should be ready to work in any part of the country, and sould possess good communication skills.
Finally, the applicant must not be a former or serving officer in any of the Forces.
Education requirements:
Candidates must possess a UCE certificate or its equivalent with at least four credits including English and at least a pass in Mathematics.
How to Apply:
Hand written applications addressed to the IGP, accompanied by certified copies of academic documents, photocopy of the National Identity Card, three (3) recent passport size photographs, Identity Card or Introductory letter from the previous school and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII and RDC (from the respective districts of recruitment) in file folder should be delivered to the Police District/ Divisional Headquarters.not later than 18th February 2024.
The police force however noted that impersonation or presentation of forged documents shall lead to arrest and prosecution in Courts of law.
In addition, applicants who conceal or provide false information shall be disqualified.
Appointment into the Uganda Police Force shall be after completion of the 12 months Police Basic Training.
Successful applicants will be paid a monthly salary at the scale of U7 (starting at UGX390,000). Female candidates are encouraged to apply according to the communication from Uganda Police Force.
