According presidential candidate, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, National Unity Platform (NUP) has developed a mobile App (Application) to be used by the party, to monitor election results in the 2021 general elections.

Kyagulanyi made the remarks on Saturday, during his end of year address, at his home in Magere, Wakiso District.

The app named ‘You Vote’ is meant to “plug the gaps” that can be exploited in vote-rigging, according to Kyagulanyi.

“We want to use this app to minimize any loose ends to vote-rigging. It will be used by our agents to send Declaration Forms,” Kyagulanyi said.

“You Vote” will be accessible via Google play store, and used to share results as declared at different polling stations for tallying.

Kyagulanyi claims that illegal tally centers had been established in Mbuya and Nakasongola, to help the ruling NRM party in vote-rigging. These claims however cannot be substantiated.

He also implored the Electoral Commission to ensure a transparent process for a free and fair election.

“We have information that the Electoral Commission intends to delay voting materials in the areas of Kampala, Mukono and Maska, we want to tell you that the people of Uganda won’t allow that,” Kyagulanyi noted.
