The discussions between President Museveni and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu centered on strengthening bilateral relations between Uganda and Israel mainly in areas of security, industry and agriculture.
In a closed-door meeting held at State House Entebbe, the two leaders agreed and signed bilateral agreements to strengthen ties in the political, economic, security and other fields.
The two leaders agreed to establish a direct flight between Entebbe and Jerusalem which will boost trade and relations between the two countries. The two countries will share knowledge and expertise in agriculture, and Israeli will open an anti-retro-viral manufacturing industry in Uganda.
In a joint press conference held after the meeting, it was noted that discussions are still on-going on the opening of Israeli embassy in Kampala, and the Ugandan government opening an embassy in Jerusalem.
Netanyahu is on a one day working visit in Uganda together with his wife Sara, and a delegation of more than 20 people. He last visited Uganda in July 2016 to mark the 40th anniversary of a hostage rescue at Entebbe airport, in which his brother Yonatan died.
