The State House Anti-corruption team led by Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema has confirmed the arrest of a young man who has been impersonating staff of the anti-graft team, defrauding people of yet-to-be specified sums of money.
James Behangana, claiming to be working with State House Anti-corruption team has been extorting services, resources and money from unsuspecting members of the public.
According to a statement on their official online site, Behangana has been arrested, charged and remanded to Luzira Prison pending his conviction.
James Behangana has been identified as a high school teacher formerly employed by several high profile schools in Kampala, hailing from the South-western district of Ntungamo.
The State House Anti-corruption team was created early this year by President Yoweri Museveni as a special unit in State House to reinforce the fight against corruption by supplementing other existing organs of government mandated to do similar responsibilities.
