40 (forty) individuals will be awarded with medals during the 2024 National Independence Day Anniversary celebrations for Uganda due to be marked on Wednesday October 09, 2024.
The national celebrations will be at Busikhu Primary Teacher’s College grounds, Masafu Busia District and President Yoweri Museveni is expected to be the chief guest at the event.
A statement from the Office of the President confirmed that the head of state has approved the award of medals to 40 people among whom 05 are female and 35 male during this year’s celebrations.
The medals, according to the statement are;
The National Independence medal Diamond Jubilee -30 medalists.
The Luweero Triangle medal -3 medalists.
The Masaba medal -1 medalist.
The Long service Gold -Police 4 medalists.
The Personal sacrifice -Police 1 medalist.
The Meritorious medal -Police 1 medalist.
The medals are awarded according to Section 3 Part II of the National Honors and Awards Act 2001 as amended.
