Uganda’s tally of coronavirus cases soared to 139 after 13 new tests turned out positive on Wednesday.
Tweeting on its official twitter handle, the Ministry of Health said all the new confirmed cases are from the 1,741 samples of truck drivers.
“The new cases include 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and one Eritrean who arrived from Tanzania, South Sudan and Kenya via Mutukula, Elegu and Malaba,” the tweet read.
In the tweet, the ministry revealed that all the 363 community samples tested negative for COVID-19.
The total number of samples that were tested at the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI) on Wednesday are 2,104.
However 55 have so far recovered from the disease and no death has been reported yet.
