Ministry of Defense Reviews Security Sector Performance

The Minister for Defense and Veteran Affairs (MODVA) Hon Adolf Mwesige has opened a one day security review workshop aimed at reviewing its annual security performance for Financial Year 2018/19.

The workshop will as well highlight the key security priorities for Financial Year 2019/20.

While officiating at the opening ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs Hqs Mbuya, Adolf Mwesige commended the Permanent Secretary Ministry Mrs Rosette Byengoma for organizing this workshop geared at increasing effective service delivery.

He also appreciated participants from the office of the President, office of the Prime Minister, National Planning Authority, ISO, ESO and MODVA for participating and reaffirming the purpose of the workshop.

The purpose of the workshop is to appraise the participants, draw up lessons learnt, identify the gaps and also look for solutions for better planning and management.

Several departments made presentations on their annual performance review Financial Year 2018/2019 including Internal Security Organization (ISO), External Security Organization (ESO) as well as MODVA.

The security review workshop was attended by the minister of State for Defense and Veteran Affairs – General Duties  Hon Col (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola, State Minister of Defense in-charge of Veterans Hon Dr Bright Rwamirama, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defense and Veteran Affairs, Mrs Rosette Byengoma, the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen David Muhoozi among others.
