Accident caused Ziggy Wine’s Death –Police

Police Spokesperson Mr Fred Enanga

Contrary to earlier claims that Micheal Kalinda aka Ziggy Wine died of severe wounds reportedly inflicted on him by his abductors, Police has established that Wine’s death was caused by a motorcycle accident.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, Police spokesperson ASP Fred Enanga said Wine hit his face in a trench thus explains the injury on his right eye.

He disputed earlier claims of torture as alleged by many in people power circles.

“What has been since established is that on the 21st of July 2019, at around 7;30pm, a speeding motorcycle Honda heading in the direction of Kyebando knocked a lady and a gentleman. The gentleman who was badly injured neither had the identification nor a phone with him. He was later identified as Micheal Kalinda or commonly known as Ziggy Wine” said Enanga.

“He was later admitted to Mulago Hospital where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the accident. The exhibit of the motorcycle is with us. It has several dents on the right hand side because this victim fell on the right hand side”

“We want to indicate to the public at large that there is no motive in the death of Micheal Alinda. This was purely accidental” added Enanga.

ASP Enanga also indicated that a postmortem report conducted in presence of the deceased’s relatives showed that both eyes were intact contrary to allegations by Hon. Sentamu Kyagulanyi that Wyne had his eye plucked out by the so called abductors.
