Museveni’s state minister in charge of investment and Privatization Evelyn Anite took a swipe at supporters of Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba saying their preferred choice for presidency lacks capacity and they should forget the 2026 bid because he won’t even stand.
In a tweet which threw her on a collision course with the “Muhoozi Army,” the yellow girl from Koboko rallied supporters of the ruling NRM party to ignore the “noise and clutter” about Gen. Muhoozi because Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be on ballot in 2026 and his victory will be massive.
“For avoidance of doubt, we lifted age limit. Team NRM, ignore the noise and clutter going around. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be on ballot in 2026 and the win will be massive. Temuva ku main. These sijuyi generators will not start.” Anite posted on Tuesday.
Supporters of Gen. Muhoozi Keinerugaba, who is President Museveni’s son, claim the military General is their “standby generator” ready to takeover from his father come 2026.
Gen. Museveni who has been in power for 37 years is yet to declare if he will seek another term of office, or support another candidate which has left many NRM party supporters uncertain of what awaits them come 2026.
The supporters of Gen. Muhoozi did not take Anite’s comment lightly and Balaam Barugahara politely explained the role of a ‘standby generator’ and their fear of losing power to the opposition in 2026.
But semalulu emanuel @EmmaSemalulu had no kind words for Anite and warned her how she will never be MP again.
“Olina amagye but you could not defeat Dr. Ayume… The one biggest problem u have, you forget so easily” another Muhoozi supporter Landy Worrio @LandyWorrio256 replied to Anite reminding her of some NRM fanatics who sing praises to Museveni in order to remain in office.
The yellow girl from Koboko retorted; “I will be Minister again. What is in being an MP? Have a look at me and the MP then you will understand what I am saying” she went on to claim how she is a self-made yet Dr Ayume is riding on his father’s name.
The heat however continued to rise: “Can’t you push for your objectives without insulting or demeaning us who differ with you in opinion? The only challenge here is my love for you, otherwise i would have sent a big missile.” Daudi Kabanda MP Kassanda and Gen. Muhoozi’s close confidant also fired.
“Hon Daudi you are my one and only brother and my love for you is equally very big. Please for give me if some of the words I used are demeaning coz that was not part of the plan, I know we are all pushing for the common good of our country. Lots of love ❤️ 😍 💖” Anite responded sounding apologetic though.
