Stanbic Bank Uganda, Busitema University offering 70 Vocational scholarships to needy youths in Eastern Uganda

Stanbic Bank Uganda is funding 70 scholarships for young people from low-income households in Eastern Uganda, to undertake vocational training courses at Busitema University.

According to a press statement issued by Stanbic Bank on July 1, 2022 the 70 selected beneficiaries will undergo a six-month vocational skills training in areas of their interest including Robotics, irrigation technologies, automotive repairs, post-harvest handling and processing technologies, welding and metal fabrication, brick laying and concrete practice, among others.

The Stanbic Bank scholarship programme is open to young people (Ugandan nationals) especially those currently unemployed and hailing from districts of Busia, Palisa, Tororo, Soroti, Mbale and Kamuli in Eastern Uganda the sorrounding areas to the Busitema University campus locations.

The beneficiaries of Stanbic scholarship programme must have completed senior four and obtained a Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and not above 35 years of age at the time of applying. The candidates will also be required to present endorsement from local leadership.

Application forms are supposed to be picked and returned to Busitema University Busia campus, Busitema University liaison office in Makerere (lincoln flats Room A2), Arapai campus in Soroti, Namasagali campus in Kamuli, Nagongera campus in Tororo, Palisa campus in Kalaki, Mbale campus at Mbale Referral Hospital, and LCV office.

Other requirements include a birth certificate, more recent passport photographs and an pplication fee of UGX.50,000 payable through Busitema University bank account number 3100070359 by July 29, 2022.
