Kyotera District Woman MP, Robina Ssentongo has died after contracting the deadly COVID-19.
Robina Ssentongo died today morning according to a communication the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga made during a plenary session on Friday.
The Speaker of parliament informed the House that Hon Robina Ssentongo, MP for Kyotera District has passed on this morning after contracting and suffering from #COVID-19.
Kadaga said the House which reconvened today observed a moment of silence the honour of the fallen legislator.
The Democratic Party legislator (58) has been in hospital and news this week confirmed she had tested positive for COVID-19.
She now joins a list of other sitting legislators that have died of COVID-19 following Faith Alupo, Woman MP representative of Pallisa District who was reported dead on 15th September 2020 and Kamuli District Woman Hajjat Rehema Watongola who died last moth.
