2 arrested for stealing President Museveni’s land in Gomba

2 people have been arrested for encroaching on private land belonging to President Museveni.

A one SSegane Peter and Suuna Jimmy were arrested after a complaint was lodged in the office of the State House Anti Corruption unit before security agents swung into action leading to the arrests.

According to the head of the State House Anti Corruption Unit, Lt. Col. Edith Nakalema, investigations into the matter revealed that Ssegane Peter and Suuna Jimmy had fraudulently acquired 5 land titles on land in Gomba District, already registered in President Museveni’s name.

In a statement released on Monday, Nakalema says the unit also identified a number of lapses in the processing of the titles at the levels of the Area Land Committee, District Land Board and Ministry of Lands.

The file in respect to the two suspects has been forwarded to the DPP while investigations continue to have all those found culpable prosecuted.
