Joint security Forces attached to Kampala Battalion on Saturday evening arrested 5 people who were found posing as security agents during curfew time.

Twinomujuni Bright (27), Tumwebaze Ismail (28), Katuramu Jackson (43), Tuguyize Vincent (24) and Mulungi Ronald were intercepted in Nsambya West Zone, Makyindye Division at 9PM, with Police Batons as if conducting security operations in the area.

According to UPDF 1st Division Spokesperson Maj. Bilal Katamba, the 5 are suspected to be part of criminal gangs that have been robbing people under the pretext of enforcement of curfew orders.

Maj. Katamba said investigations are still going on to ascertain the real motive of the suspects.

He also reported that security operatives last night arrested more than 40 people in operations around Kampala, Mukono and Wakiso, after they were found violating government directives on stopping the spread of coronavirus in Uganda.
