NBS news anchor Samson Kasumba is being held on charges related to treason.
According to police spokesperson CP Fred Enanga, Samson is a subject of investigations on alleged involvement in subversive activities.
In a press conference held at Media Center today, Enanga said Kasumba is being held with several others for alleged involvement in subversive activities.
“Police experts from Criminal Investigations Department are interrogating Samson Kasumba and several others on the same charges.” said Enanga.
He however noted that Kasumba’s case is not related to his journalistic work.
Enanga said Kasumba was today subjected to an interrogation session and he is set to be taken to various places for a search.
Kasumba was arrested last after his evening news bulletin on NBS and taken to Kira Road Police Station where he is currently detained.
