Presidential aspirant Rtd. Gen. Henry Tumukunde has today appeared before Buganda Road Court for mention of his case in which he is charged with treason and four counts of unlawful possession of fire arms & ammunition.
Gen. Tumukunde did not appear in person but proceedings were relayed from Luzira Prison via video conferencing system mainly due to suspension of public gatherings across the country in the face of the coronavirus outbreak.
In a joint security operation, the embattled army General was arrested in Kampala on the evening of March, 12 2020, before his office and country home in Rukungiri were searched as the police looked for more evidence linking him to treason and subversive activities for which the general is accused.
