Lubaga South Member of Parliament Hon. Kato Lubwama has declared himself Chairman of People Power, a pressure group that is largely attributed to singer-turned politician Kyagulanyi Sentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine.
Kato, also a comedian-turned politician, who has often proclaimed his profound contempt for politicians in the people power movement saying it is a group of undisciplined characters who do not deserve leadership positions, now says he is the people power Chairman Buganda region and his position is indisputable.
In an exclusive interview with the writer, Kato scoffed at his critics in the people power movement who have started sidelining some politicians from the group and trying to monopolize its membership.
“no one should monopolize the people power movement and soon i am going to start registering candidates who have intentions to stand under the people power movement. As the Chairman People Power Buganda region, I will not allow any person to stand against people who opposed the lifting of age limit. we will ensure such people to run unopposed” Kato said.
It is presumed that Kato sudden change of heart and need to associate with people power, might have been motivated by pressure from people power candidates in Lubaga South who threaten his political survival.
