Juicy East African Community University Scholarship opportunities up for grabs: APPLY NOW

The Inter University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) is inviting suitably qualified nationals of the East African Community (EAC) partner states, to apply for cohort 3 of the KFW -funded scholarships starting August 27, 2021.

The scholarships according to the Principal Secretary State Department for Education and Research -Republic of Kenya, David Watene, young nationals age bellow 35 years can apply for up to 63 scholarships available in the 2021-2022 academic year, to pursue Master’s Degree studies in partner states other than their country of origin.

According to a later dated September 8, 2021 (photo attached), all Vice Chancellors of Public Universities and Principals of University Constituent Colleges are urged to communicate the matter. The letter has closing date for receiving application as September 17, 2021 but emphasizes that study opportunities are still on and up for grabs.

Eligible students from Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and South Sudan can apply for scholarships to study Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics, Science, Technology and Business Science.

The scholarship covers Return ticket between candidates home and host countries, University Tuition fees, 380 Euros per month stipend to support living expenses, 1500 Euros as allowance for study materials and for research, Medical insurance, and Extra-curricular events -at least one event per year.

Duration of the scholarships:

The duration of the scholarships is 2 years.

Eligibility for this program requires;

– One to be a national of the East African partner states,

– Bellow 35 years of age at the time of application,

– Possess an equivalent of at least Upper Second-Class honors or “Distinction” as applicable,

– Should have obtained admission in University of another country of EAC region other than their own,

– Submit a letter in English with more than 500 words in well written grammar.

Application process:

– Identify the programme and University of your choice,

– Fill application form for admission to the University -this can be found at the University’s website,

– Submit the completed University application form with supporting documents.

– Candidates may apply to more than one University and more than one programme provided every programme should have its own application form and attachments.

Supporting documents include;

– A letter of motivation for applying for the scholarship,

– Signed Curriculum Vitae,

– Certified copies of all University degree certificates and transcripts,

– A copy of the University application form with attachments,

– A recent passport photo in color showing full head and upper shoulders,

– Evidence of Nationality of a partner state in the East African Community,

– Any form of evidence required in the application form -medical reports, Photos, and letters of reference.
