Mowzey Radio’s Death; Troy sentenced to 14 years

Late Singer Moses Sekibogo aka Mowzey Radio; File

Godfrey Wamala alias Troy, the man accused of killing singer Moses Sekibogo who was known by the stage name Mowzey Radio has been sentenced to 14 years in prison.

The High Court in Entebbe presided over by Justice Jane Abodo delivered the sentence on Thursday in presence of Mowzey’s relatives.

Troy was on Monday found guilty of manslaughter and not murder which he had been charged with.

According to Justice Abodo, Wamala did not have malice aforethought to kill Mowzey despite the fact that he was present at the scene of crime.

The Goodlyfe crew member died following a bar brawl at the De Bar in Entebbe on Jan 22, 2018.

During the hearing, Wamala linked himself to the scene of crime when he admitted that he was present when the incident happened though he denied touching the musician but only saw other men beating him up.

Mowzeys relatives expressed dissatisfaction saying the convicted has been handed a lesser sentence.
