Veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu, is dead.
Mr Ibu died on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos State.
He was 62 and preliminary reports indicate that Ibu suffered Cardiac arrest.
News of the death filtered in on Saturday evening, but the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, would later confirm it on his official social media handles.
“I announce with (a) deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didn’t make it.” he posted.
Details surrounding his death are still expected. Also, Mr Ibu’s family and representatives have yet to comment publicly.
The actor had been battling health issues since October 2023 and had undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg.
