Police probing source of a fire outbreak at Kisubi Girls Primary School

Territorial Police at Entebbe is actively investigating a fire outbreak that occurred today, October 25, 2023, at Kisubi Girls Primary School.

According to Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police Luke Owoyesigyire, the fire incident was reported to authorities at approximately 8AM and is believed to have initiated in the Primary Four Dormitory.

“We are relieved to report that no injuries or loss of life were recorded, as all pupils had safely evacuated the dormitory before the fire ignited. Regrettably, all items within the dormitory were lost in the blaze” Owoyesigyire said in a statement posted on official social media for Uganda Police.

By the time of this report, the fire had been successfully extinguished thanks to the swift response from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Services who prevented the fire from spreading further.

“The exact cause of this fire remains unknown at this time” Owoyesigyire adds noting that a team of investigators is diligently working to uncover the circumstances leading to this incident.

“We are committed to establishing the precise cause and ensuring the safety and security of our educational institutions. We will provide further updates as our investigation progresses.” He said.
