Four (4) students of Kasaka Senior Secondary School in Gomba district were confirmed dead and 18 others leftinjured after a Sino truck lost control ramming into a school block crushing its victims.
According to police, the incident happened today 14 March 2023 at around 3:30pm when the driver of Sino truck registration number UBL 790J lost control and rammed into the school fence before proceeding to a computer lab filled with students.
The PRO Traffic Police Directorate Faridah Nampiima identified the deceased as Evelyn Namagembe of Senior five, Mawanda Bosco of senior 2, and Asege Hilda of Senior 4. These three died on spot. Lois Sserwamga from senior 2 died later after the incident.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for management.
Nampiima stated that the driver of the truck a one Wanume Abudala has been arrested following the incident.
