UPDF launch inspection of Health Centre construction projects in Isingiro, Mitooma and Kazo district

Today, the UPDF Engineers Brigade launched inspection of Health Centre construction projects in the districts of Isingiro, Mitooma and Kazo.

A team led by Maj Gen Henry Masiko – CPC and Chairman UPDF – M&E committee, Brig Gen B Besigye – Commander Engineers Brigade, Brig Gen FM Kulayigye – MoDVA/UPDF Spokesperson among others were received by the office of the LC5 – Isingiro District Headquarters Mr. Tuhirwe Turali.

He guided them on the inspection of the  six (06) OPD sites, 02 staff house sites and the repair and maintenance works on the Health Office Blocks, accompanied by other local leaders to establish progress.

Isingiro District Engineer Mr. Kanyamuhanga Edison thanked the leadership of the UPDF for entrusting Engineers Brigade with these projects saying that it has reduced on construction costs, time and quality by the provision of “patriotic skilled labor” compared to private contractors.

“We are not fighting private sector, we are just providing services because this is an operation other than war” Maj Gen Masiko noted.

The contractor, MoDVA/UPDF Engineers Brigade have been applauded for their professional skills, tireless efforts and sites’ discipline in the construction project of; OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Kigaragara HC-II, OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Kagaaga HC-II, OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Kyabahetsi HC-II, OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Birunduma HC-II, OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Rwantaaha HC-II, OPD Block and 2 stance lined latrine at Rwanjogyera HC-II, Repairs and maintenance of health office block at District Hqs, a Two bedroom twin staff house and a 2-stance lined latrine at Kyabinunga HC-II and a Two bedroom twin staff house and a 2-stance lined latrine at Rwakakwenda HC-II.

The detailed scope of the works include:- Construction of an Out-Patient Department (OPD) block comprising of 5 working roms, a drug store and an open gallery for training.
