The traffic police at Nateete police station have today morning 27th Oct 2022, registered a fatal accident involving one motor vehicle and five motorcycles in which at least 5 people lost lives.
The accident happened at about 083AM at Kabuusu round about in Rubaga Division near Pope Paul Road.
According to the PRO Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety Faridah Nampiima the cause of the accident has been attributed to the Isuzu ELF truck which lost control while coming from Rubaga road and knocked five motorcycles and bicycle that were entering Kabusu roundabout.
The motor vehicle Registration number UBH 321T Isuzu Elf that was being driven by a one Ssembatya Gerald, rammed into five motorcycles killing some of the riders and passengers instantly. Several others were rushed to hospital with injuries.
The identities of the dead and injured remain undisclosed.
The motorbikes involved were UFN 226F, UET 422T, UEZ 579U, UFH 520P, UEX 504C all Bajaaj boxer model and one bicycle (sport bike).
